Dressing Up

Mom is having so much fun dressing up Benjamin! He looks just like a little doll today, doesn't he?
Eric updated this today as well with the new pictures on top. They were taken by my great friend Anne who just graduated from photography school. She currently lives in Boston but was home to visit and took some incredible pictures!
Here is her website, so you can check out all of her great work:

A BUSY week!

Sorry we've been missing in action, but as you can tell from the title of this post, we have been SO busy the past week! On Thursday, we were extremely busy! Benjamin got a visit from some of his new friends and their moms from Farrand, where mom works. The top picture is Olivia, Benjamin, and Mary Jane trying to get a picture, how funny is that?!?!
Benjamin also went on his first major outing on Thursday-a trip to Detroit for our dear friends Mike and Molly's wedding rehearsal. He even got to go to the very fancy Detroit Athletic Club for dinner afterwards, and he was perfect. Barely a peep out of him! He of course got lots of attention and loved every minute of it!
On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa Weaver babysat Benjamin while his mom and dad went to the wedding, and he did great there too! He really likes when grandma sings to him and grandpa even got to change his first poopy diaper!
On Sunday, Benjamin stayed with daddy for a few hours while mom went to her school's 50th birthday party. Again he was an angel!
We can't believe how big he's getting and how much he's changing in such a short time. Every day is a new adventure, and we're loving every minute of it!

My BFF

Our good friends Curt and Courtney brought over their daughter, Alexandra, on Saturday to meet Benjamin. We have already decided that they are going to be best friends, and possibly even boyfriend and girlfriend in the future! :) Alexandra and Benjamin hung out in his crib, and even grabbed hands a few times! Alexandra also decided she'd really like his MSU bib and started pulling on it, which Benjamin did not appreciate very much. They were so cute together!

Go State!

Benjamin watched his first MSU football game yesterday and loved every minute of it! We think he might be the good luck charm State needs to have a great season and FINALLY beat Michigan!
We had a great time dressing him up in his Spartan gear! Thanks Susan and Jordan for the adorable outfit!

1 Week Old!

It is so hard to believe that a week has already gone by since Benjamin was born! He is still doing great. Last night we were able to get 9 hours of sleep, interrupted by feedings every 3 hours of course, but it felt great! :)
We also went to the doctor today for another weight check, and he is 8 lbs, 5 oz! We cannot believe that he gained 9 ounces in 3 days. We are so fortunate that everything has gone so well and he is so healthy. I have a feeling he's going to be a big boy!
We are excited for his first MSU game tomorrow (on TV of course, not going to the real thing!) and will definitely post pictures of him in his MSU gear! Go Green!

Doing great!

We are so happy to report that Benjamin has figured out the difference between day and night! He FINALLY slept last night, about 2-3 hours at a time, which was wonderful for his mom and dad! He has been awake much more during the day and we are having so much fun with him. Yesterday we went for his first walk. He also took his first of many trips to Target and did great!
We went to the doctor yesterday and everything looks outstanding! He has gained back 5 ounces in 3 days, so his doctors were very impressed. He barely even cried at the doctor, although he did manage to pee all over his mom :) Mom didn't mind a bit.
We are working on getting some videos loaded so stay tuned!

We're Home!

Well, we are home now, and it feels so nice! We were released from the hospital Sunday and are enjoying our first morning together in our house as a family.

Ben is doing great, he loves his house, his room and his crib. He isn't so sure about his big sister Chloe, who loves to lick him and is very curious around him. He is feeding great and has quite an appetite. He seems to have his days and nights confused right now, which has been a bit hard on his parents, but we're getting used to it and hoping he figures out the difference soon!

Thank you so much for all of your phone calls, emails, text messages, and visits. We are still getting back to many of you, and appreciate the wonderful family and friends that we have.

The Grandparents . . . and all its glory.

Baby Ben has arrived!

Benjamin arrived at 5:28 AM right on his due date! He is 8 lbs, 2 oz. and 20 inches long.

Mom and baby are both doing great, Teresa's water broke at midnight and she was pushing by 4:45AM.
Oh. . . and the new dad isn't doing too bad either.

No Signs of Baby Yet!

Well, I was really hoping the next time I logged on here it would be to post pictures of Ben or to tell my amazing birth story...but....that is definitely not the case! I did have a doctor's appointment Thursday and she said there's progress, but obviously not enough progress.

Eric is encouraging all of the old wives tales, from spicy food to walking and everything else you can imagine. I will admit I've caved and eaten Thai food a few times, walked poor Chloe at an extremely slow pace, and have been bouncing on an exercise ball daily. Nothing seems to be working...yet.

Keep your fingers crossed that he comes this week! Just preferrably not next Saturday the 13th, which is the wedding of my cousin Tim and Moe. For months we have joked and laughed that it would probably be that day, and now I'm really starting to worry it could be!

My good friend Courtney's dad, who predicted her baby's due date perfectly, has predicted the 7th, which is tomorrow. If he is right, I will not only be amazed at his psychic abilities, but the happiest person on Earth.
