Changing Every Day!

Benjamin is doing wonderful, it is amazing how much he changes every day! He is now fully holding himself up while on his tummy! He is pushing himself up with his arms, chest, and legs. His hair also seems to be getting darker and we're still thinking that his bright blue eyes are going to be changing soon!

My First Pumpkin

We went to the pumpkin patch last night and Benjamin got his first pumpkin! He did sleep through the whole event, but when he got home he enjoyed his pumpkin. Of course mom had to put on his little owl hat, which Benjamin does not really enjoy, but it was only for a few minutes!

Benjamin's First Shower

Yesterday Benjamin attended his first baby shower (well, outside of the womb that is!) It was my dear friend Korina's baby shower. Her baby, Eva, is due January 12th! We traveled all the way to Greenville with Aunt Courtney and Alexandra. The babies did excellent on the way there-they both slept the whole way! The way home was not quite as smooth, but overall they did great for such a LONG day. Benjamin slept most of the shower, but everyone enjoyed meeting him and he had a great time. He got to meet all of his mom's college roommates, and his new friend Henry as well. He also got to dress up in his "man" clothes!

Why 2008 is the best year ever

Of course our #1 reason is our dear Benjamin.....

But our second reason.....after 7 years.....MICHIGAN STATE FINALLY BEAT MICHIGAN! GO SPARTANS!
I thought of a third reason and had to come back and add it on here! 2008 will also be fabulous because it is the last year that George Bush will be in office.

My First Halloween

This adorable "My First Halloween" outfit is from my friend Mary Lu. We thought it might be too big for him when she first bought it since it is 3-6 months, but little did we know that in fact it would almost be too small for him! Last night, he busted open the buttons on the bottom more than once!
Benjamin is doing great with tummy time, as you can see he is able to hold his head up for several seconds at a time!

All Bundled Up

Brrrr it's getting colder, so Benjamin is wearing a nice warm outfit from his Aunt Courtney and Uncle Curt!

He is also enjoying playing with his "Baby's First Halloween" rattle that Jason, Amy, and Jordan gave him. He is actually holding onto it and shaking it for minutes at a time. So advanced for almost 6 weeks! (Yes, we are those parents who think that about their child already!)

Tuesday Fun

Well, time for more portrait sessions for Benjamin! This time I included Chloe too! She sure loved posing for the camera.
Benjamin also has a new chair thanks to his grandma, and we LOVE this chair. We call it the magic chair. It bounces and he loves it so much. We can actually eat dinner without having to hold him, and when he gets fussy at night we just stick him in it and he's instantly happy. Thank you Grandma!

Benjamin's First Trip Up North

We had such an eventful weekend! We headed up north so that Benjamin could meet many members of his family! Benjamin loved his grandma and grandpa's cottage and got to spend lots of quality time with them, including a VERY nice time Sunday morning while his mom and dad enjoyed sleeping in! We stopped in Alma as well. Benjamin got to meet his Great Grandma Sullivan, Great Grandpa and Grandma Weaver, Great Aunt Teresa and Uncle Tony, his cousins Paul, Sara, Vinny, Shawn, Kendra, and Lauryn. He had so much fun and was an absolute angel in the car. We enjoyed the beautiful fall colors on the way up, and overall had a great time!

1 Month Old!

Well Benjamin went to his 1 month doctor's appointment today and mom's prediction of weight was right on! Benjamin weighs 12 pounds, 3 oz. and is 23 inches long! That puts him in the 97th percentile for weight and height! The doctor couldn't believe how strong he is! He is a very healthy and happy 1 month old! :)

Growing Like A Weed!

Benjamin is getting so big! This shirt is 0-3 months and his belly is showing because it's almost too small! :) I guess mom is going to have to change his outfit several times a day so that he can wear all of the great clothes he has before he outgrows them!
We have Benjamin's 1 month doctor's appointment Monday-I cannot wait to see how much he weighs. I'm guessing somewhere between 10-12 pounds.

Smiles!

That's right-Benjamin is smiling! At first, we thought it might just be gas late last week, but now he is waking up and smiling at us every morning! Isn't he precious? It's so hard to believe he's almost a month old and look at how he's changed so much!
Maybe he is smiling so much this morning because his new friend Henry Overbeek was born yesterday at 4:30! Congrats Kate, Rob, and Will! We can't wait to meet him!

Our Little Spartan

Benjamin has yet another new MSU outfit, and of course he's wearing it for homecoming today! We swear that he is their good luck charm, as the only game they lost was the weekend before he was born. Go Spartans!
In other news, Benjamin got his first real bath this week because his umbilical cord fell off! He loves his bathtub. Now, for those of you who haven't heard the story, his umbilical cord is missing in action. We suspect that our wonderful dog, Chloe, might have eaten it! We were only in 1 room that morning, and mom saw the umbilical cord still on him hanging by one little thread, and not even 10 minutes later, it was gone and Chloe was hanging out around him and sniffing and licking his belly button! We searched high and low and it is nowhere to be found, so we are pretty sure she ate it. Yummy!
